Joyce Yang’s weekend in the Rockies

Following her “sumptuous, powerful, subtle performance” (New York Times) of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the New York Philharmonic earlier this month, Joyce Yang joins the orchestra and conductor Bramwell Tovey this Friday for the same work during the Philharmonic’s Colorado residency at the Bravo! Vail festival.  The next day, Joyce reunites with her frequent duo partner, violinist Augustin Hadelich, and Spanish guitarist Pablo Sáinz-Villegas at the Aspen Musical Festival for a program called "Tango, Song, and Dance," which is built around André Previn’s three-part work of the same name. The trio first performed this program together at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC in April. In its review of the performance, the Washington Post said, “The music was delightful and well-played by three crack musicians.”
